On December 26th, the village of Ko Phi Phi Island was almost completely destroyed by the Tsunami. Beside a fact finding mission in order to evaluate the initial situation in February 2005, decision makers on the local and regional level were supported to develop plans for reconstruction in the sense of sustainable tourism.

On the occasion of the Tsunami conference of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) at the International Tourism Fair (ITB) 2005, a documentary video "Ko Phi Phi - a Day in March 2005" was produced as opener for the conference.
